COMPUTER ASSISTANT

A Computer Assistant, GS-0335-09, Integrates and maintains the organizational automation and brigade network infrastructure, consisting of the distribution and connectivity requirements of the various tactical automation systems and sensors, as stipulated by guidance from higher and local requirements. Responsible for implementation of configuration management plans for complex LANs and WANs with supported elements to include; headquarters staff elements, and subordinate organizations. Provides detailed technical advice for long-range decision planning related to tactical network management up and down the chain of command. Prepares briefings and presentations about the complexities of the tactical network. Reviews and evaluates new or upgraded tactical software packages.Serves as the organizational Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO). Initiates appropriate measures to maintain information assurance (network security and data protection) within the organization. Responsible for possessing and maintaining accreditation documentation on the various tactical automation systems and major network components. Develops and maintains documentation regarding network configuration, operating procedures, necessary to maintain the reliability of the network. Serves as network administrator responsible for configuring hubs and switches, monitoring network performance and installing network software/interim change packages (SCP/ICP). Oversees the distribution of applications and upgrades ensuring compliance with regulations and copyright laws. Utilize established procedures for remote distribution of applications and upgrades. Uses remote management software tools to maintain and update configuration, protocol and user/system files. Establishes procedures to maintain accurate records of authorized users of distributed software. Develops standard operating procedures for the operation of the network. Instructs lower graded information systems operator(s) in the administration and maintenance of the installation's network devices. Provide input to the development of the signal annexes of the organizational operation plan (OPLAN) or operation order (OPORD). Performs other duties as assigned. MILITARY GRADES:

Experience:
Experience, training, or education which demonstrates the applicants ability to follow directions, procedures, or systematic work methods which gives evidence of the candidates ability to perform this work. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months experience maintaining continuity of production control; coordinating work load priorities and scheduling multiple requirements. Experience applying optional methods to new or developmental requirements and provide for program dependencies and priorities. Experience identifying computer requirements or techniques associated with the development and design of data processing systems. Experience in planning and programming requirements related to computer systems or applications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
